Julia Balfour is an abstract painter that uses form as a trace of her experiences that are influenced by colour. Her abstract paintings reflect her view on the importance of colour in its most elegant and purest form. She uses watercolour to develop layers and relies on colour to construct its own shape and find its place in a composition.
Julia graduated from the Drawing and Painting program from OCAD university in Toronto. She has shown her work in local galleries, at Art Toronto, and displays her work in interior design showrooms across the city.
She currently works from her studio in Toronto.
